I just had to share this with everyone. On Flickr, one is always greeted with greeting words in other languages. And whad'ya know? Today, after a few years of being on Flickr, I finally saw the greeting in my own native language... Kumusta? It's an adaptation of the Spanish words "Como esta," which means "how are you?" Tagalog or Pilipino is made of Spanish, Bahasa Malay, and Chinese, among other languages. An old room-mate once called me "the mutt of all Asian races" because of my Filipino heritage. I say whatever! It's hard to explain how the Philippines was once very active in th galleon trade, how it was already globally trading with other nations from the very beginning, and hence, our ability as a people to adapt wherever we are, without sounding like bragging, but I digress. In any case, kumusta na?
