This "Doli Tomato" reminds me of every good childhood memory, particularly of afternoons with my Yaya, the lady who took care of me and my siblings. I was obsessed with dolls as a child, and as early as 4 years old, I wanted to make my own, so my Yaya took scrap pajamas, and whipped up dolls for me, with googly, embroidered eyes, nose and mouth. I wish I had a picture of those dolls. I remember my favorite one was a white one withtiny green flowers.
Eva Monleon is the lady behind what is easily, my new etsy favorite Misako Mimoko. She works in her Barcelona home studio, taking her time, inspired by the fabrics, their colors, objects-- an animal, a vegetable, always surrounded by good music and good wine! Her "Dolis y Dolos" are so full of character, each one has a soul, you might say.
This is the Doli Toffee Candy
and this
is la "Ratita de Biblioteca," or the Library Mouse.
Delightful!! Catch up with Eva and her creations here and for her posts exclusively on her dolls, here, where she writes that she will be updating her etsy shop soon!
Thank you Anna for this lovely featuring!
I'm happy reading what my dolls reminds you to. I always try to imagine that somebody has sewed or even mended clumsily but with a lot of love these dolls maybe for a loved one. Your lovely childhood memory has touched me, it's the kind of feeling that I love to induce.
Thank you.
