"To be the best that I can be
To be humble, to be kind,
To be patient, to be true,
To embrace what is good
To reject what is evil..."
- Cory C. Aquino, Prayer for a Happy Death, 2004
I am so saddened by the passing of the Philippines' 11th President, Corazon C. Aquino. I was only 8 years old at the time of the EDSA Revolution, but I remember it so well. So much has been said in the last few days about her passing and her life. I marvel at her enormous spirituality, one that mobilized a whole nation in its magnanimity. Cory Aquino gracefully retired to private life six years after her time as president of the Philippines. As a private citizen, she pursued painting. In this blog, I'd like to celebrate not only her life as a leader who taught me how to love my own country and my culture, but also Cory Aquino, the artist. Here are some of her works:
All of these images are from Cory Aquino's website where more of her paintings can be viewed, including her writings, such as speeches and prayers.

Ninoy and Cory, youre the best! Thank you for teaching democracy to the Filipino people. Thank you for showing to the world how much you care for your country.
